Bladder cancer is a condition in which abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the lining of the urinary bladder and form a tumor. The bladder is a hollow organ in the lower abdomen that stores urine before it leaves the body.

Bladder cancer commonly begins in the inner lining of the bladder and may spread deeper into the bladder wall if not detected early. One of the most common early signs of bladder cancer is blood in the urine (hematuria). Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are important to prevent the disease from progressing and to improve treatment outcomes.
