TRUS Guided Prostate Biopsy (Transrectal Ultrasound Guided Prostate Biopsy) is a diagnostic procedure used to detect prostate cancer or abnormal prostate tissue. The procedure uses transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) to create detailed images of the prostate gland and guide a small biopsy needle to collect tissue samples from the prostate.

The collected tissue samples are then examined under a microscope to determine whether cancer cells or other abnormalities are present. This procedure is usually recommended when a patient has elevated PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) levels, abnormal findings during a digital rectal examination, or suspicious results in imaging tests.
